Forest of OxfordshireForest of Oxford

The Forest of Oxford provides help and specialist advice to organisations in Oxford which wish to plant trees and stage events in their neighbourhood. Its target audience includes schools, businesses, voluntary groups and local resident associations and it is supported by the Oxford City Council. The Forest of Oxford is linked to the Oxfordshire Woodland Group, having a dedicated account to enable charitable contributions for Forest of Oxford activities to be handled by Woodland Group Trustees.

Activities and services:

  • Advice provided on the planting and sourcing of trees, obtaining sponsorship and grants, fundraising events, etc
  • Annual programme of planting events
  • Will help identify possible partnership organisations and co-ordinate partnerships
  • Provide trees, shelters, tools, etc
  • Produce plans and specifications for tree planting projects
  • Advice and resources for schools, especially in relating tree planting to the curriculum (biology, geography and art)
  • Provides local information such as City Centre Tree Trail and more general leaflets, e.g. Your Front Garden
