The Vale concentrates on the creation, restoration and sympathetic management of wildlife habitats on its own land, and the acquisition of land with wildlife and landscape value.
Activities and services:
- Countryside Conservation Grant available for willow pollarding, tree planting, hedge planting and restoration, pond restoration. Up to 40% grant aid is provided by this scheme
- Advice on trees in with tree preservation orders and trees in conservation areas, landscape and access, etc
- Amenity tree planting scheme for parishes
- Management of council-owned nature reserves
