Trust for Oxforshire´s Environment

TOE

TOE is an independent, not-for-profit, grant giving Trust set up in 1998 under the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme.
As an ENTRUST approved Environmental Body, TOE can contribute landfill tax credits to projects in Oxfordshire. TOE works with waste companies to make landfill tax credits available, and can thus fund a wide range of environmental projects across the County.
The membership of TOE is broad-based and drawn from environmental interests, waste companies and local authorities. The TOE Board meets quarterly to assess applications.

Activities and services:

Provides grants in the areas of:
  • research and development, education and collection and dissemination of information projects which will encourage the use of more sustainable waste management practices
  • Landscape/ecology/countryside projects which through protection, conservation, maintenance or enhancement will help maintain and protect the overall quality of Oxfordshire's environment and amenity
  • Projects which increase and enhance public access to help protect the overall quality of Oxfordshire's environment and amenity
  • Projects which help to maintain, repair or restore buildings or structures of historic or architectural interest which are open to the public.
