Oxford Preservation Trust works to care for the historic environment and green setting of Oxford. In 1927 the Trust acquired land at Boars Hill to save it from development, and from which the Dreaming Spires can still be viewed today. Since then it has acquired 500 acres in and around the City to protect its green setting. The Trust is keen to manage its land in an environmentally sensitive way. It also encourages public access to its land and buildings wherever possible and tries to engage local people in their historic environment.
